This AC describes an acceptable means of compliance with flight time experience and examination syllabus content requirements, for the issue of private pilot licences, to assist applicant(s), to meet the requirements of Civil Aviation Rule Part 61 Pilot Licences and Ratings.

Revision 27 to this AC:

  • deletes references to a recreational pilot licence (RPL) as the RPL category is to be revoked under amendment 15 to Part 61,
  • outlines the process for the issue or renewal of a New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) medical certificate in respect of a PPL, and
  • outlines the privileges that a holder of a PPL with a Land Transport (DL9) medical certificate may or may not exercise.
