All low-level flight operators are reminded to use Flight Advisor to help make sure they’re safe.

To improve the safety of low-level flying in uncontrolled airspace, the RNZAF developed Flight Advisor in 2022.

This free-to-use computer application is integrated with AirShare and logs the flights of both manned and unmanned aircraft.

It displays real-time tracking of low-level activities or other potential hazards.

This includes NZDF operations, RPAS flights, NOTAMs, and permanent obstacles such as wires.

Pilots can also load previously uncharted hazards onto the system.

This information can be presented onto satellite imagery, road maps, visual navigation charts, and 1:50 topographical maps.

A time slider on Flight Advisor also allows users to see what’s planned at least 48 hours in advance.

The app can be used on a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
