This AC describes an acceptable means of compliance with the requirements for Runway End Safety Areas (RESA) and/or Engineered Material Arresting Systems (EMAS). It provides guidance on how to assess the practicability of a RESA or EMAS, and on expected content for an aeronautical study considering a RESA or EMAS.
