The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has begun publishing summaries of its Board meetings as part of its commitment to being an open, transparent and accountable public sector organisation.
The summaries will provide insight into the key matters considered by the Board, helping aviation participants, stakeholders and the public understand the strategic, operational and governance issues shaping CAA's work. The summaries will not include commercially sensitive, security-sensitive or confidential information, but will outline the main topics discussed and decisions made.
The first published summary covers the CAA Board meeting – 27 August 2026. The Board considered a range of strategic and operational priorities, including CAA's long-term financial sustainability, investment in new aviation security screening technology, progress on the Rules Update Programme, growing demand for certification services driven in part by emerging technologies, and the Business Transformation Programme.
Board meeting summaries will be published regularly on the CAA website following each meeting, providing stakeholders with greater visibility of the Board's work and the issues influencing New Zealand's civil aviation system.
