Appendix A of this General Direction provides exceptions to the reporting requirements set out in Schedule 2, clause 8(1) of the Act for temporary medical conditions. It provides practical guidance on what temporary medical conditions do not require reporting to CAA by a medical certificate holder.
Appendix B provides practical guidance what temporary medical conditions do not require reporting to CAA if reported to and handled by a Safe Haven ME (MESH) as well as its requirements and protocols.
Where a Safe Haven Medical Examiner (MESH) accepts that a medical certificate holder has a qualifying temporary medical condition, the person is not required to report the condition to CAA when they comply with all directions given to them by the MESH or Safe Haven Medical Director.
These exceptions to reporting requirements only apply to participants who hold a current medical certificate.
All applicants for a medical certificate must disclose their medical conditions for the purposes of a medical examination.
