Emerging Technologies Unit attending Aerospace Summit 2023(external link)

The second Aotearoa New Zealand Aerospace Summit will be held at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre over two days on 11-12 September 2023. On day one, Civil Aviation Authority Deputy Chief Executive System Practice and Design John Kay will participate in the panel discussion about Advanced Aviation Regulatory Framework - A Global Perspective. Following that, Sophie Ray and Scott Griffith from Civil Aviation Authority Emerging Technologies Unit will conduct a workshop about getting innovative projects regulatory ready or ‘match fit’ for certification. Throughout the Summit, Emerging Technologies Unit staff will be on hand to discuss how the Emerging Technologies Programme can assist innovative projects to identify regulatory challenges, and pathways to approval.

The Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand, supported by the Ministry of Transport and New Zealand Defence Force, in concert with aviation/aerospace representatives from industry, research institutes, state owned enterprises, government agencies and academia have created a Forum designed to enable the aviation/aerospace industry and the aviation regulator to work more closely together.
